Longfield Academy Careers Convention

 July 13 2017 | Kent & Medway | Views: 1437

Longfield Academy hosted the Trust Careers Convention on the 13th of July 2017 and the students were extremely lucky to have a McLaren car in the car park as McLaren were one of the organisations that participated in the event.

The Academy had an air of excitement as the Careers Convention unfolded in the morning with the students having the opportunity to speak to a wide range of people from universities, employers, STEM, volunteering organisations and apprenticeship providers during their time at Longfield Academy.

We are very fortunate that a number of the organisations support us on a regular basis and without their support we cannot offer the students such a positive experience.

The careers convention gives the students different ideas on careers and courses that they may want to consider in the future. It also enhances their communication skill’s as they are encouraged to talk to a wide range of people.

The feedback from the students was exceptionally positive. One year 12 student now knows that she would like to student science at university.
The businesses were very positive and mentioned that the event was very organised and the students were asking some really interesting questions.

The staff at Longfield worked very hard to enable the event to be such a success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the event.
